About Tenants Talk

Tenants Talk was made by Will Damon, in collaboration with Dani Aiello and many other co-conspirators. Special thanks to Teréz Szoke, Ryan McNeil, DJ Larkin, Caitlin Shane, the Vancouver Tenants Union and the myriad low-income and racialized people whose struggles against eviction across Vancouver inspire our work. with lots of help from friends and family.

We set out to build this website after experience in grassroots community organizing with groups like the DTES SRO Collaborative and VANDU in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside revealed to us just how prevalent the epidemic of evictions here is. We are inspired by other multi-racial, anti-colonial tenant organizing and anti-eviction mapping projects all across Turtle Island, and situate our work within the longer history and on-going status of Indigenous people’s dispossession here. Our work, which seeks to highlight a continued crisis of displacement, takes place on the occupied and unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.

The resources here are offered free of charge. If you are interested in making a donation to help keep this service running or have ideas about how to make this website more sustainable please contact me at [email protected]
